Montreal, September 15 2011 - ArtExpert.ca's team is proud to highlight progress in local, provincial and national projects to which its work has contributed:
IN QUEBEC - LOUISE POULIN, FINALIST FOR THE PRIX DES FEMMES D'AFFAIRES DU QUÉBEC
On September 9th, the Réseau des Femmes d'affaires du Québec unveiled its list of finalists for the 2011 Prix des Femmes d'affaires du Québec. ArtExpert's chair, Louise Poulin, is amongst the finalists. This distinctive initiative from the Réseau des Femmes d'affaires du Québec is the only such award recognizing and valuing businesswomen who distinguish themselves by their brilliant achievements, leadership and social commitment.
The 28 finalists will be honoured on November 9th during a gala at the Hilton Montréal Bonaventure Hotel, a highly appreciated event for the business community.
IN QUEBEC - BIG AMBITIONS FOR SMALL PERFORMANCE VENUES
On September 2nd, 2011, the Minister for Culture, Communications and Status of Women, Christine St-Pierre, announced a $200,000 grant for the establishment of a pilot project aimed at supporting the enhancement of presentation settings for emerging music artists in alternative venues throughout Quebec. This announcement comes after ArtExpert had conducted an environmental scan, on behalf of the Festival de musique émergente d'Abitibi-Témiscamingue (FMEAT), on performance venues for emerging musicians in Quebec.
IN MONTREAL - MAJOR FACILITY RENOVATIONS
A $3.3 million grant was announced earlier this spring for a major renovation project at Salle Jean-Grimaldi. The renovated concert hall will open in November. ArtExpert carried out a feasibility study, a strategic plan and a business plan for this project.
IN MONTREAL - NEW SPACES FOR EMERGING ARTISTS
On October 14th, 2011, Aux Écurie will inaugurate use of its new theatre and creation space. The feasibility of the enhancement of la compagnie des Deux mondes' spaces, in order to meet the production and dissemination needs of Aux Écurie's performing arts companies, was confirmed in the study on emerging artists' needs <http://www.artexpert.ca/en/artexpertca-team-unveils-a-study-concerning-the-next-generation-of-artists-in-montreal.html> conducted by ArtExpert. The construction of this unique creation, production and dissemination space, designed for emerging theatre companies, grew out of a business plan completed by ArtExpert on behalf of Les Deux Mondes/Aux Écuries.
IN ONTARIO - ENHANCED SPACE FOR CONTEMPORARY ABORIGINAL ARTS IN THUNDER BAY
In the fall of 2011, the Thunder Bay Art Gallery will be moving towards its goal of obtaining an improved facility to house its considerable collection of contemporary Aboriginal art and providing a larger space for its acclaimed exhibitions and popular community events. This consolidation and development effort is based on a feasibility study and a strategic plan completed by ArtExpert, Ginder Consulting and Barlow & Associates (Toronto). See "Update on Renewal Project" excerpt from the gallery's newsletter, page 6.
IN NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR - A CULTURAL BLUEPRINT FOR A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE
ArtExpert, in collaboration with Ginder Consulting, developed a Cultural Blueprint for the Gros Morne National Park Region in Newfoundland & Labrador. Gros Morne National Park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. The project was commissioned by Gros Morne National Park Cooperating Association.
